(NETFLIX) – Netflix struck a three-project deal with Beyonce worth $60 million, according to Variety. Yahaira Jacquez reports.
This week, Beyonce stunned fans with the drop of her Netflix special ‘Homecoming.’
And it appears there’s more to come.
According to Variety, Beyonce struck a $60 million deal with Netflix for three exclusive specials, including Homecoming.
The documentary chronicled the Grammy-winning performer’s 2018 Coachella performance, in which she became the first black woman to headline the festival.
The price tag on that installment was around $20 million, according to Variety.
But it seems the drop of her Netflix doc wasn’t enough for the Houston-born artist.
At the same time ‘Homecoming’ was released, she surprised fans with a live album FROM THE SAME performance.
Netflix wasn’t the only media company interested in locking down Beyonce. It was reported that HBO was also interested in the project but in the end, Netflix swooped in with a bigger offer.
With the move, Beyonce joins the ranks of performers like Dave Chappelle and Chris Rock who have struck similar deals with Netflix.
