Bushy eyebrows? You’re likely to be a narcissist

Researchers from the University of Toronto have found that eyebrows are key to recognising how narcissitic someone is, and the bushier, and more distinct the eyebrow, the more likely self-absorbed they’re likely to be. Thuy Ong reports

ORONTO, CANADA, PARIS, FRANCE, LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA, UNITED STATES, LONDON, ENGLAND, UNITED KINGDOM (REUTERS) – Kim Kardashian, Russell Brand and Cara Delevingne,

all have well defined and bushy eyebrows.

And now research from the University of Toronto has found,

that the thicker your eyebrows…

the more likely you are to be narcissistic.

UNIVERSITY OF TORONTO ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR NICHOLAS RULE:

“Narcissitic personality inventory is essentially a questionaire that people can fill out that asks them questions for example like: the world would be a better place if I ruled it. People who respond positively to that question generally tend to be narcissists.”

Researchers photographed a group of students who then undertook a narcissism test.

Another group were then shown photographs of the faces

and asked to judge how self-absorbed they perceived the people to be

UNIVERSITY OF TORONTO ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR NICHOLAS RULE:

“A lot happens in the eyes, the eyes are considered by some as the window to the soul right? And so what we did was show people photos of just the eyes, the eyes with the eyebrows, or just the eyebrows alone. And what we found when we did that, was that it was the eyebrows by themselves that people were using, to accurately judge if someone was narcisstic.”

The study, published in the Journal of Personality, notes that those looking at the eyebrows considered their femininity, grooming and distinctiveness when judging narcisism,

but only the distinctiveness of the eyebrows related to how narcisistic someone is.

That lead the researchers to conclude that narcissists seem to have thicker and denser eyebrows.
