At the Matty Bovan fashion models wore prints, tapestry-like knitwear and crinoline skirts in an “ode to England.”
LONDON, ENGLAND, UNITED KINGDOM (Reuters) – Liberty print blouses with Edwardian necklines and frilled shoulders were among the ecletic looks at the Matty Bovan fashion show on Friday (February 15).
Voluminous skirts were sequinned or layered in clashing prints, knit crochet or a mix of fabrics. The looks were topped with eye-catching headgear and large keyrings. Bovan is a British Fashion Council ‘NEWGEN’ bursary recipient, the scheme supported his Autumn/Winter 2019 shows.
“We have so many traditional fabrics, so many traditional English suppliers,” Bovan said. “It’s really turned into my love affair with all those textiles and histories.”
