‘Oceans 8″ tops weekend box office

(WARNER BROS. – “Ocean’s 8,” which boasts a stellar ensemble cast, topped the box office for the weekend ending June 10, knocking “Solo: A Star Wars Story” into second place.

The spinoff that stars Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, Anne Hathaway, Helena Bonham Carter and Rihanna took in $41. 5 million, according to Box Offce Mojo.

“Ocean’s 8” sees Bullock play Debbie Ocean, the estranged sister of Danny Ocean, played by George Clooney in the trio of Ocean’s movies.

“Solo: A Star Wars Story” finished in second taking in an estimated $15.15 million as it begins its third week of release, Box Office Mojo reported.

“Deadpool 2” finished in third at an estimated $13.65 million.

Supernatural horror movie “Hereditary” made its debut in the fourth slot with an estimated $13 million dollars, and Marvel’s “Avengers: Infinity War came in fifth with an estimated $6.8 million, according to Box Office Mojo.
