MADISONVILLE, OHIO, UNITED STATES (APRIL 10, 2018) (NBC) – Family and friends of a 16-year-old Ohio boy were mourning his death on Thursday (April 12) after he died of an apparent ‘freak accident’ inside his van while parked across from his school.
Local media report that high school sophomore Kyle Plush was found dead on Tuesday (April 10) trapped under a folding seat of his gold Honda Odyssey in Madisonville.
Plush was found by his father around 9 pm local time nearly 6 hours after the teen had made two 911 emergency calls asking for help, local media report.
“I probably don’t have much time left, so tell my mom that I love her if I die,” Plush told the dispatcher, according to the local NBC news affiliate which cited one of the 911 calls.
It said police were unable to pinpoint the location of his van because the teen used voice activation to make the calls instead of using his hands.
The dispatcher, who reportedly failed to respond after Plush’s second 911 call, was put on administrative leave, the NBC station said.
An investigation was underway to determine how the teen became trapped.
