This is one of the Texas detention centers for immigrant children

Rows of tents mark one detention facility Reuters viewed from the outside. Texas is estimated to hold some 2,000 immigrant children in similar complexes.

TORNILLO, TEXAS, UNITED STATES (Reuters) – This Texas detention center is one of the facilities in focus as public furor grows over the hardline immigration policy that separates the children of immigrants from their parents.

Texas is estimated to hold some 2,000 children in similar complexes.

The Trump administration is defending the policy, where the adults are arrested while trying to enter the United States illegally. It extends to asylum seekers.

According to the U.S. government an estimated 52,000 people were caught trying to cross the southern border illegally last month.
