A white woman who blocked her black neighbor from getting into his St. Louis apartment building has been fired by her employer who saw viral video of the incident, posted on Saturday night. Linda So reports.
ST. LOUIS, MISSOURI, UNITED STATES (CBS) – NATS: “Would you please move ma’am? I CAN. DO YOU LIVE HERE.”
This woman who tried to prevent a black neighbor from getting into their St. Louis apartment building has been fired from her job.
The incident, which has gone viral, shows the woman who’s been identified as Hilary Brooke Mueller, blocking the entrance and demanding her neighbor give proof he lives there.
NATS: “You are blocking me into my building. THIS IS MY BUILDING AS WELL. SO, I NEED YOU TO GET OUT OF MY WAY. Okay, what unit? I DON’T NEED TO TELL YOU THAT INFORMATION. EXCUSE ME, MA’AM. I am uncomfortable. YOU CAN FEEL UNCOMFORTABLE. THAT’S YOUR DISCRETION. YOU ARE UNCOMFORTABLE BECAUSE OF YOU.”
D’Arreion Toles says he was returning from a late night at work and started recording the incident after the woman, who lives on the third floor, refused to move.
NATS: “I don’t like the fact you have your phone in my face. I DON’T LIKE THE FACT YOU ARE BLOCKING ME. WHERE I PAY TO LIVE HERE. All I am asking if what unit. I DON’T NEED TO TELL YOU THAT INFORMATION. LISTEN MA’AM. If you want to come in my building… IT’S NOT YOUR BUILDING. YOU ARE NOT THE OWNER. Sir, you walked up on a street. YES. I HAVE ALREADY BUZZED.
Toles manages to get past the woman and takes the elevator to the fourth floor where he lives. The woman follows him all the way to his door.
NATS: “HAVE A GOOD NIGHT MA’AM. DON’T EVER DO THAT AGAIN. YOU LOOK PRETTY STUPID WHEN YOU DO. HAVE A NICE NIGHT. AND MY NAME IS MR. TOLES.”

Toles posted the video on his Facebook page. It’s received millions of views.
The woman’s employer, Tribeca-STL, a luxury apartment company said in a statement that it reviewed the video and decided to fired her.
