On the Morning You Wake (to the End of the World), a three-part virtual reality documentary about nuclear threat from the Emmy® Award-winning creators of Notes on Blindness VR, Archer’s Mark and Atlas V, will premiere “Chapter 2: The Doomsday Machine” and “Chapter 3: Kuleana” at the 2022 SXSW Film Festival. Jupiter Rising Film Announces Yasiin Bey Cast as Jazz Great Thelonious Monk in New Theatrical Biopic As Well As Impressive Slate of Projects in Development

Alberto Marzan and Peter Lord Moreland, co-founders of Jupiter Rising Film, announced today that yasiin bey, previously known by his stage name Mos Def, has signed on to play the lead role, Thelonious in the new theatrical Biopic, Thelonious. The film will center around his struggles for musical success, mental illness and the spiritual love triangle between his wife Nellie, and one of the world’s richest women Nica Rothschild. IMAX Lands $12 Million Global Opening For “Black Widow”

IMAX Corporation (NYSE: IMAX) soared to a $12 million debut for Marvel Studios’ “Black Widow,” reaching its highest grossing opening weekend of the pandemic era in 11 markets worldwide, including North America. At the resurgent domestic box office, “Black Widow” broke pandemic-era records for IMAX® across the board — delivering the Company’s biggest opening weekend box office, indexing, and per screen average since March 2020. IMAX Races to Top Domestic Opening of Pandemic Era With $5.5 Million Debut of “F9”

IMAX (NYSE: IMAX) continued to set the pace for summer blockbuster season as it delivered a $5.5 million domestic opening for Universal’s “F9” — driving IMAX to its biggest weekend at the domestic box office of the pandemic era. The latest “Fast and Furious” epic debuted on 378 IMAX screens in the United States and select theaters in Canada, capturing 7.8% of total domestic box office. “Lovebirds of the Twin Towers” Premieres at Tribeca Film Festival

The immersive experience Lovebirds of the Twin Towers premieres at the Tribeca Film Festival as the storied fest marks 20 years, the creative team announced today. Lovebirds tells the true story of Carmen and Arturo Griffith, two elevator operators who worked at the World Trade Center for more than 20 years. Viewers are brought back to a time when the Twin Towers dominated the NYC skyline through the use of VR.
